The Supreme Court of Liberia on Monday, May 10, 2021 officially invited Mr Hannibal Uwaifo, the President of the African Bar Association (AfBA) to their National Judicial Conference (NJC) scheduled for June 7- 11, 2021 at the Chambers of the Supreme Court of Liberia in Monrovia The Conference tagged "THE LAW, PUBLIC POLICY AND THE ECONOMY" and Mr Hannibal Uwaifo has been requested to speak on the topic " The Importance of an Independent and Accountable Judiciary for development" ,at the opening of the Conference on Monday, June 7, 2021.
This is coming on the heels of many recognitions and Awards for the African Bar Association under the watch of Mr. Hannibal Uwaifo ,who has taken the Affairs of the African Bar association (AfBA) ,to an Olympian Height , rejuvenating the different structures of AfBA and giving AfBA fillip to host its International Conference in October in Niamey ,Niger Republic in October ,2021 that will also comprise the African Business Roundtable and other interesting sessions .
The 2021 Annual Conference of the African Bar Association (AFBA) holds 3rd - 7th October, 2021 at the mahatma gandhi international conference centre, Niamey, Republic of Niger.
Theme: Accountable Governance as a panacea for the unending conflicts in Africa: The Legal Profession as The driver.
Recognizing that killings and maimings of unarmed Black people by police authorities in the United States escalate unabated and that effective domestic remedies are either non-existent or exacerbated by the policies of the federal government of the United States, the International Association of Democratic Lawyers (IADL), the National Conference of Black Lawyers (NCBL), and the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) decided to convene this International Commission of Inquiry.
Hearings for the Commission will take place between January 18 and February 6, 2021. The Commission will issue a Final Report of its findings for submission to the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, relevant officials, and the public.

The African Bar Association yesterday met with Nigeria's President Goodluck Jonathan to brief him about the activities of the Association and invite him to the 2021 annual conference holding in Niamey Niger Republic 14-18 June 2021. The Former President accepted the invitation.
The Association seeks amongst other objectives to foster the exchange of opinions and experiences among members, formulation of policies that would better reposition the continent’s socio-economic and political development and advancement with the law as the bedrock for these developments, and lastly breaking new legal frontiers. The Association brings together the five African sub-regional Lawyers, their respective National Associations spread over the AFBA continent.
The AFBA organizational structure consists of a 64 member Governing Council called the African Bar Council and the Executive Committee. These two arms form the highest decision making organs of the Association.
